Ana Lucia is a Forest Engineer and has a Master’s degree in higher education and innovation, both completed at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. She worked as a researcher at the Center for Environmental and Biodiversity Studies in research projects focused on forest management and conservation, community forestry, migration and land use, adaptation to climate change, especially in adaptation strategies with small farmers. He has taught several courses at UVG such as: community forestry, seed and nursery technology, life sciences and environmental challenges and sustainability. From 2018 to 2021, she served as research secretary in the deanship of the UVG Research Institute, where she was in charge of strategic activities to support the work carried out by the 11 research centers that make up the Institute. She also supports research and promotion activities related to environmental education and education for sustainable development, especially through her participation as alternate coordinator of the National Network for Environmental Training and Research -REDFIA-.
