Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG)
Entrepreneurship Coordinator
Alejandra Piedrasanta is a Food Science Engineer graduated from Universidad del Valle de Guatemala with a passionate interest in research and development of innovative food products.
After completing her academic training, Alejandra developed a broth and a low-sodium, high-protein instant soup, using discarded chickens from the Guatemalan poultry industry. This project not only attempted to offer healthier food options for a high-demand product category in the country, but also to make the most of the resources available in the poultry industry. Alejandra received recognition from the collaborating poultry company and an honorable mention from Universidad del Valle de Guatemala.
Alejandra’s professional experience includes being a Project Manager in an agribusiness, where she managed a project to implement ERP systems. She currently works as Entrepreneurship and Innovation Coordinator in the ASPIRE Project, where she seeks to develop models that promote entrepreneurship in the UVG Community to help local development and contribute to the comprehensive training of professionals from different careers.
